The complexity of the process is handled by the Smart Grid , an integrated communication system that must be supported and protected if quality service is to be maintained. Fortunately, rugged products have been developed and technologies are keeping pace with the requirements of the grid. This new "super highway" can not only monitor itself, but it can also alert officials when problems arise. Built-in self protection is also an important feature. Protecting the grid, is, in a way, protecting electricity usage in this country. |
